WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Goldeyes’ left-handed pitcher Tasker Strobel has been selected to the American Association West Division All-Star Team.

Strobel will join catcher Deon Stafford Jr. as Goldeyes’ representatives at the American Association All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 12th at Impact Field, home of the Chicago Dogs.

Entering Tuesday, Strobel is tied for second in the American Association with 10 saves and tied for fifth with 18 appearances.  The Avon, Indiana native has a 0.86 ERA in 21.0 innings, striking out 22 and walking only five.  Strobel was 3-5 with eight saves and a 3.71 ERA for the Gary SouthShore RailCats last season in 32 appearances over 68.0 innings pitched.  The Goldeyes acquired Strobel via trade this past off-season.

The all-star nod is the first of Strobel’s five-year professional career.  The 27-year-old played collegiately at St. Joseph’s University in Rensselaer, Indiana from 2016-17.  Strobel has averaged 8.9 strikeouts and just 2.9 walks per nine innings as a professional.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes open a three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Shaw Park tonight.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
