WINNIPEG, MB – Jacob Robson hit a pair of home runs and Mitchell Lambson twirled his second consecutive complete game as the Winnipeg Goldeyes (23-23) defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (23-25) 8–5 Tuesday afternoon at Blue Cross Park. Boxscore Playing at home on Canada Day for the first time since 2019, the Goldeyes opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. Roby Enríquez lined an RBI double to right-centre to bring home Max Murphy , followed by an RBI double down the left field line from Matthew Warkentin to give Winnipeg a 2-0 lead. An inning later, Tanner O’Tremba reached on a walk, setting the stage for Robson , who crushed a 458-foot home run to right-centre field—his sixth of the season—to extend the lead to 4-0. Warkentin drove in his second run of the game in the third with an RBI single that scored Murphy , and Robson added his second homer of the day in the fourth—a towering shot off the centre field videoboard—to make it 6-0 Goldeyes. The RedHawks responded in the sixth inning with a solo home run from Juan Fernández, followed by an RBI double from Lamar Sparks to cut the lead to 6-2. One inning later, Hunter Clanin hit a solo homer to left to make it a three-run game. The Goldeyes added two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth. Keshawn Lynch hit a sacrifice fly to centre to score Enríquez , and Warkentin later came home on a wild pitch to push the lead to 8-3. In the top of the ninth, José Sermo hit a two-run home run to left to make it 8-5, but Lambson (W, 6-1) completed the outing to secure the win. The left-hander allowed five earned runs on seven hits with one walk and one strikeout, notching his league-leading third complete game of the season. Kolby Kiser (L, 2-3) took the loss for Fargo-Moorhead, allowing six earned runs on seven hits over six innings with two walks and two strikeouts. Will Fazio gave up a run in one inning of relief, while Angelo Cabral surrendered another in the eighth. The series continues Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. CDT at Blue Cross Park. Right-hander Luke Boyd (1-4, 4.61 ERA) is scheduled to start for Winnipeg. Former Goldeyes lefty Tyler Jandron (2-3, 3.76 ERA) is expected to take the mound for Fargo-Moorhead. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (22-23) wrapped up their weekend series in dominant fashion, defeating the Milwaukee Milkmen (16-27) by a score of 9–3 Sunday afternoon at Blue Cross Park. Boxscore The victory secured the Goldeyes’ third straight home series win as the team looks to gain momentum heading into July. Winnipeg opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. Max Murphy grounded into a fielder’s choice that brought home Jacob Robson , followed two batters later by Matthew Warkentin ’s eighth home run of the season – a two-run blast to centre field – to give the Fish an early 3–0 lead. Milwaukee answered with a pair of runs in the top of the second on a two-run single by Joe Gray, but the Goldeyes quickly responded. Andy Armstrong drove in two runs with a rare two-run sacrifice fly in the bottom half, restoring the three-run lead at 5–2. The Milkmen added a solo home run in the fifth – Andy Blake’s third in two contests – to pull within two, but Winnipeg again responded in the bottom of the inning. Sacrifice flies by Warkentin and Keshawn Lynch extended the lead to 7–3. Murphy added the finishing touch in the seventh with a two-run single, scoring Armstrong and Robson to put the game out of reach. Right-hander Zan Rose (W, 2-3) earned the win for Winnipeg, going five innings while allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and four strikeouts. The bullpen was outstanding, contributing four scoreless innings. Ryder Yakel , Landon Leach , and Tasker Strobel combined to allow just two hits and strike out six. Chase Gearing (L, 1-1) took the loss for Milwaukee after surrendering six runs over four innings of work. After a scheduled off day Monday, the Goldeyes return to action Tuesday, July 1, for a special Canada Day game at Blue Cross Park. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (21-23) mounted a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome an early deficit in an 8–6 loss to the Milwaukee Milkmen (19-26) Saturday evening at Blue Cross Park. Boxscore Milwaukee opened the scoring in the first inning with a lead off home run from Andy Blake. The visitors added to their lead in the second on a Micker Adolfo sacrifice fly that scored Delvin Pérez to make it 2–0. Two more runs came across in the third – Erik Ostberg drove in Blake with a single to right, followed by a Chase Estep RBI single to centre that scored Ostberg. The Goldeyes answered in the bottom of the third when Jacob Robson launched a two-run home run to right field, bringing home Andy Armstrong and cutting the Milwaukee lead to 4–2. The Milkmen extended their advantage in the fourth inning on back-to-back home runs. Joe Gray hit a two-run shot to left, and Blake followed with his second homer of the game to give Milwaukee a 7–2 lead. Ostberg added a solo home run in the seventh to make it 8–2. Winnipeg responded in the bottom half of the seventh with a four-run frame. Armstrong drove in Ray-Patrick Didder with a single up the middle, then Ramón Bramasco brought home Gustavo Sosa and Armstrong with a two-run single. Max Murphy grounded into a fielder’s choice to score Robson and bring the Goldeyes to within two. Right-hander Landen Bourassa (5-4) took the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits over four innings with one strikeout. Derrick Cherry followed with three innings of relief, giving up just one run on one hit while striking out three. Trevor Brigden and Ben Onyshko each pitched scoreless innings to close out the game. Milwaukee starter Davis Welch (2-2) earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings with three strikeouts. Blake Purnell was tagged for four runs in one-third of an inning, while Tahnaj Thomas and Denny Bentley (S, 9) held off the Goldeyes down the stretch. Bentley earned the six-out save, striking out two across the final two innings. The series concludes Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. CDT at Blue Cross Park. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (21-22) scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Milwaukee Milkmen (18-26) by a score of 7–4 Friday evening at Blue Cross Park. Boxscore Milwaukee opened the scoring in the first inning on a Chase Estep single to left field that brought home Erik Ostberg. The Milkmen added three more runs in the third inning. With the bases loaded, Estep’s ground ball skipped past Goldeyes first baseman Matthew Warkentin , allowing Glenn Santiago and Ostberg to score. Andy Blake followed with a sacrifice fly that plated Delvin Pérez to make it 4–0. Winnipeg began to respond in the bottom of the third. Keshawn Lynch drove a single up the middle to score Andy Armstrong and cut the deficit to 4–1. The Goldeyes narrowed the gap to 4–3 in the fourth inning when Warkentin and Ray-Patrick Didder hit back-to-back home runs on consecutive pitches. The game was tied in the sixth on a sacrifice fly to centre by Jacob Robson that scored Roby Enríquez . In the bottom of the eighth, Robson delivered a two-run double to left, scoring Warkentin and Didder to give the Goldeyes their first lead of the evening. Kevin García followed with an RBI single to bring in Robson and extend the lead to 7–4. Jesse Galindo started for Winnipeg and allowed four runs (two earned) over six innings, walking three. Tasker Strobel worked 1.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout, while Ryder Yakel (W, 1-1) earned the win with 1.1 innings of one-hit ball. Milwaukee starter Matt Walker allowed four runs over 5.1 innings, issuing three walks and striking out two. Aaron Mishoulam (L, 1-2) was charged with the loss after allowing three earned runs in the eighth. The series continues Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CDT.
