DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
As the faces of the Goldeyes organization, Goldie and Goldette play a crucial role in enhancing the fan experience, promoting team spirit, and engaging with audiences of all ages. The ideal candidates will possess a vibrant personality, excellent communication skills, and a passion for entertaining crowds.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute entertaining dance routines and interact with fans during pre-game, in-game, and post-game activities to create an exciting atmosphere at Blue Cross Park.
- Engage with fans of all ages through interactions, photo opportunities, and other fan experiences to enhance their enjoyment of the game.
- Assist in promoting team events, merchandise, and sponsor activations through on-field appearances, social media, and community outreach.
- Help maintain the integrity and appearance of the mascot costumes through proper care so as to ensure it remains in top condition for all appearances.
- Collaborate with the game day production team to coordinate performances and enhance overall fan engagement.
- Participate in community events, charity functions, and school visits, etc. to represent the Goldeyes and foster positive connections with fans and supporters.
- Be adaptable to various weather conditions, game schedules, and fan demographics while maintaining high levels of energy and enthusiasm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong ability to perform in costume, entertain crowds, and engage with diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with fans of all ages.
- Dependability and punctuality, with a commitment to fulfilling scheduled appearances and responsibilities.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with other members of the game day production team and Goldeyes staff.
- While not required, previous experience as a mascot performer or in a related field such as entertainment, theatre, or sports marketing is advantageous.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, some holidays between May 21 and September 22.
- Comfortable performing in a confined costume with limited visibility, mobility, adapting to different performance environments and situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Noise levels in the work environment are frequently loud.
- Exposure to outdoor elements.
- Standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing, kneeling, and stooping; the use of arms and legs.
