WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Goldeyes’ shortstop Andrew Sohn has been named the American Association’s Batter of the Week for July 10th-16th.

In six games last week, Sohn was 11-for-26 (.423) with 11 runs scored, three home runs, 10 RBI, six walks, and five stolen bases.  Sohn homered in three straight games from July 13th-15th.  In the Goldeyes’ 12-11, 14-inning win on Saturday versus Kansas City, Sohn set career-highs with six hits and seven RBI.  The six hits tied a Goldeyes’ single-game record last accomplished by Chad Thornhill on July 27th, 1999 at Madison.

For the season, Sohn is batting .316 with seven home runs and 27 RBI.  The Royal Oak, Michigan native is third in the American Association in runs scored (49), tied for 10th in walks (31), and third in stolen bases (19).  Sohn has also reached more batted balls than any shortstop in the league (257).

Sohn is the fifth Goldeye to capture Player of the Week accolades this season.  Both Shawn Pleffner (May 18th-21st) and Wes Darvill (May 22nd-28th) have been named Batter of the Week, while Kevin McGovern has been named Pitcher of the week twice (May 29th-June 4th and June 26th-July 2nd)
