WINNIPEG, MB – The Inside Pitch, the official radio show of the Winnpeg Goldeyes, returns to airwaves this Wednesday (March 29th) at 7:00 p.m. on 93.7 FM CJNU.

March’s guest panel features Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney, right-handed pitcher Daniel Minor, Gary SouthShore RailCats’ manager Greg Tagert, Kansas City T-Bones’ manager Joe Calfapietra, and Hall of Fame baseball writer Bob Elliott.

Forney is heading into his 12th season as Goldeyes’ manager, and his 21st overall within the organization.  During his first 11 seasons at the helm, Forney has guided the club to an overall .550 winning percentage, nine winning seasons, eight playoff appearances, and American Association championships in 2012 and 2016.  Last year, the Goldeyes became only the second team in American Association history to win multiple championships, and the first since the Fort Worth Cats won back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.

Minor was signed on February 9th, and last pitched in 2015 where he reached the Double-A level in the Houston Astros’ organization.  Minor is 20-9 with four saves and a 3.70 career ERA in four professional seasons.  The Austin, Texas native earned the save in a combined no-hitter while pitching for the High-A California League’s Lancaster JetHawks in 2014.

Tagert is entering his 13th season as RailCats’ manager, and has led the club to seven playoff appearances and three championships.  In 21 years of managing at the professional level, Tagert has finished with a record below .500 just once.

Calfapietra was hired as the sixth manager in T-Bones’ history last November, and is coming off a successful run with the Can-Am League’s New Jersey Jackals.  During his 14 years in New Jersey, Calfapietra guided the Jackals to 10 playoff berths, six league final appearances, and a championship in 2004.  Calfapietra was also the RailCats’ inaugural skipper in 2002, and was named Northern League Manager of the Year at the end of the season.

A Canadian native, Elliott is one of the country’s most renowned baseball writers and earned the prestigious J.G. Taylor Spink Award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2012.  Elliott has covered both the Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays, and remains the editor in chief for the Canadian Baseball Network, a website dedicated to tracking the careers of all Canadian-born baseball players.  Elliott was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015.
