WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed catcher Tanner DeVinny on Monday.

A true rookie, DeVinny appeared in three games earlier this season for the Sioux Falls Canaries.  The Plano, Texas native recently finished his senior season at the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) where he batted .206 with four home runs and 16 RBI in 48 games for the Crimson Tide.  The switch-hitting DeVinny led Alabama with a .398 on-base percentage and graduated this past May with a degree in Consumer Sciences.  The 22-year-old DeVinny previously played at Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kansas) and Grayson County College (Denison, Texas) before transferring to Alabama for his junior year in 2016.

Additionally, the Goldeyes released rookie catcher Hunter Dolshun.

The Goldeyes’ roster currently stands at 21 players, including 10 pitchers and 11 position players.
