WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced phase one (May-June) of their 2019 promotional schedule on Monday.

Following a seven-game road trip to begin the regular season, the Goldeyes host the defending champion Kansas City T-Bones in their 2019 home opener on Friday, May 24th (7:05 p.m.).  All fans in attendance receive a 2019 Goldeyes magnet schedule, courtesy of Pepsi.  Fans can stay after the game for the first of seven fireworks spectaculars, presented by Archangel Fireworks (full list of 2019 fireworks dates below).

The opening weekend festivities continue Saturday, May 25th (6:05 p.m.) when the Manitoba Métis Federation hosts the third annual Metis Night at Shaw Park.  The following afternoon (1:05 p.m.), the Goldeyes and T-Bones square off in the annual Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame Game.  The Goldeyes will wear special jerseys honouring the 1996-2003 Carillon Sultans who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Morden this June.

The early portion of the 2019 home schedule includes two Kids Day Matinee games (both starting at 11:05 a.m.) on Thursday, May 30th versus Gary SouthShore and Tuesday, June 4th versus Sioux City.  All youth in attendance receive a free toothbrush, courtesy of Children’s Dental World.

Wednesday, June 5th is Turkey Night (7:05 p.m.), presented by Granny’s Poultry.  As the Goldeyes take on the Sioux City Explorers, one fan will win a free turkey during each inning.  Prior to the game, fans can enjoy a turkey barbecue outside of the main gates with proceeds being donated to the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation.

The first of three Baseball Bingo nights takes place Thursday, June 6th (7:05 p.m.) versus Sioux City.  All fans receive a bingo card which can be marked off throughout the night for a chance to win great prizes.

The ALS Society of Manitoba presents Lou Gehrig Awareness Night on Friday, June 7th (7:05 p.m.) when the Goldeyes open a three-game series against the Cleburne Railroaders.  A re-enactment of Lou Gehrig’s famous farewell speech will be performed prior to the first pitch.  After the game, fans can enjoy another fireworks spectacular.

On Saturday, June 8th (6:05 p.m.), Cabela’s Canada hosts the Girl Guides Sleepover.  Members of Girl Guides Canada will camp out on the Shaw Park outfield following that night’s game against the Railroaders.

School Patrol Night, presented by Manitoba Public Insurance, returns Tuesday, June 18th (7:05 p.m.) when the Goldeyes take on the Chicago Dogs.  The night honours the dedicated boys and girls throughout the province who keep their classmates safe during the school year.  All patrol members are invited to participate in the on-field parade leading up to the first pitch.

The May-June portion of the schedule concludes with two games promoting the hard-working spirit of everyday Manitobans.  Friday, June 21st (7:05 p.m.) marks the first ever visit from the expansion Milwaukee Milkmen, and will also be the Goldeyes’ first ever Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Industry Night.  The June 21st game also features a postgame fireworks show.  Sunday, June 23rd (1:05 p.m.) is the third annual Winnipeg Transit Drivers Appreciation Day, presented by ATU Local 1505 Winnipeg.

Phases two (July) and three (August-September) of the Goldeyes’ promotional schedule will be announced in full detail this week.  Additional promotions and giveaways may be added to the schedule at a later date.
