WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes will be sending four players to the American Association/Can-Am League All-Star Game on July 25th at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park in Ottawa, Ontario.

Third baseman Wes Darvill, outfielder Josh Romanski, left-handed pitcher Kevin McGovern, and right-handed pitcher Ryan Chaffee have all been selected.

Darvill is fifth in the American Association in batting at .349 with two home runs and 26 RBI in 44 games played.  Darvill also ranks third in stolen bases (15) and tied for third in doubles (13).  Defensively, the Langley, British Columbia native is second in fielding percentage (.961) and first in total chances (152) among league third basemen.  Darvill was named American Association Batter of the Week for May 22nd-28th.

Romanski is batting .303 with seven home runs and ranks seventh in the American Association with 37 RBI.  The Anaheim, California native is also tied for fourth in the league in runs scored (37), and has twice set a career-high this season with a 13-game hitting streak.  Both Darvill and Romanski will be in the starting lineup.

McGovern is 6-2 in nine starts, and ranks second in the league with a 2.53 ERA.  McGovern is tied for first in the American Association in wins, and has earned Pitcher of the Week accolades on two occasions.  The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native threw a complete game, four-hit shutout versus Salina on May 24th, and then tossed a three-hit shutout versus Sioux Falls on July 2nd.

Chaffee leads the American Association with 12 saves and has a 1.86 ERA in 19 relief appearances.  Chaffee has struck out 25 while walking only eight in 19.1 innings.  On June 21st at Lincoln, Chaffee became the fastest pitcher in Goldeyes’ history to reach 10 saves.  The Bellevue, Nebraska native has reached the Triple-A level four times in his career.

This year’s All-Star Game pits the American Association against the Can-Am League at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park, home of the Can-Am League’s Ottawa Champions.  Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney will lead the American Association club against Ottawa skipper Hal Lanier.  Forney and Lanier led their respective teams to league championships in 2016.  Lanier managed the Goldeyes from 1996-2005.
