WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Goldeyes’ centre fielder Reggie Abercrombie has been named the American Association’s Batter of the Month for July.

In 26 games last month, Abercrombie hit .343 with 23 runs scored, nine doubles, nine home runs, 23 RBI, and seven stolen bases.  The Columbus, Georgia native’s July included Batter of the Week honours from July 11th-17th.  On July 14th versus the Sioux City Explorers, Abercrombie hit two home runs to break the American Association’s all-time career record.  Now 36 years of age, Abercrombie currently has 14 home runs for the 2016 season, pushing his record total to 93.  The former Major Leaguer ranks fourth in the American Association in homers as of this week’s all-star break.  In his last 18 games, Abercrombie is 34-for-76 (.447) with 19 runs, eight home runs, and 22 RBI.
