WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Goldeyes traded shortstop Maikol Gonzalez to the Cleburne Railroaders in exchange for two players to be named later on Wednesday morning.

Gonzalez hit .256 in 100 games for the Goldeyes last season with three home runs and 43 RBI.  A native of San Francisco, Venezuela, Gonzalez scored 72 runs, stole 31 bases, and drew 75 walks, while finishing with a .376 on-base percentage.

The Goldeyes now have 24 players under contract for the 2017 season.  American Association clubs may carry up to 28 players during spring training, which begins May 6th.
