KANSAS CITY, KS — The Winnipeg Goldeyes (35-26) beat the Kansas City T-Bones 4-3 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.

Tied 3-3 in the top of the 11th inning, Wes Darvill hit an infield single beating out the throw from a diving Jordan Edgerton. Darvill stole second and third and scored on a Grant Sides wild pitch that skipped past Leo Rojas that gave the Goldeyes the 4-3 lead.

In the bottom of the 11th, with one-out and runners on first and second, left-hander Evan Rutckyj stranded the winning runs with back-to-back outs and sealed the Goldeyes win.

Goldeyes closer Ryan Chaffee (1-2) earned the win, allowing two hits, one walk and one earned run in one and one-third innings pitched.

Grant Sides (1-2) took the loss for the T-Bones, with one hit, one earned run and two strikeouts through one inning pitched.

The Goldeyes opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. Darvill reached first on a fielders choice, stole second and scored on a Mason Katz RBI single to left field that gave the Goldeyes the 1-0 lead.

The T-Bones answered back in the bottom of the fifth. Switch-hitter Jerome Pena hit left-handed and singled, Leo Rojas followed with a single past Patrick Brady, Chantz Mack came in and hit a two-run RBI single that scored Pena and Rojas and put the T-Bones ahead 2-1.

After three scoreless innings, trailing 2-1 in the top of the ninth, Reggie Abercrombie led off with a two-strike, solo home run to left field that tied the game 2-2.

Tied 2-2 in the top of the 10th, David Rohm doubled to centre field over the head of Cedric Hunter and took third on a Josh Romanski ground-out to second. Abercrombie hit an RBI infield single to Edgerton who threw past first and scored Rohm and gave the Goldeyes the 3-2 lead.

In the bottom of the 10th, Jerome Pena hit a solo home run over the right field fence that tied the game 3-3.

Victor Capellan, and Zack Dodson in his first relief appearance of the year combined for two and one-third scoreless innings and four strikeouts in relief.

Reggie Abercrombie hit is 443 and 444th career RBI and remains one shy of tying the American Association all-time RBI record held by John Allen.
