LINCOLN, NE – The Winnipeg Goldeyes (17-14) lost 4-3 in 12 innings to the Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park on Tuesday night.

Tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the 12th, the Saltdogs loaded the bases with no outs on a Cesar Valera hit batsmen and back-to-back walks to Trever Adams and Curt Smith.  Dashenko Ricardo lined a single down the right field line to drive in Valera with the winning run.

Lincoln opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the second.  Adams led off with a walk and went to third on a single to right from Smith.  Ricardo hit a sacrifice fly to right in which Adams scored just ahead of a strong throw from David Rohm.  Later in the inning, Johnson worked a two-out, bases loaded walk that forced in Smith.

The Goldeyes responded in the next half inning.  Andrew Frazier drew a one-out walk and advanced to second when Andrew Sohn singled to left.  Josh Romanski ripped a double down the right field line that scored Frazier.  David Bergin followed with a two-run double to left-centre that gave Winnipeg a 3-2 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Christian Ibarra singled to centre and went to third on an errant pickoff throw.  Johnson tied the game with a two-out, line drive single to right that scored Ibarra.

Ryan Chaffee (0-1) took the loss in relief for the Goldeyes, while Leuris Gomez (3-2) picked up the win in relief for the Saltdogs (21-10).

Mikey O’Brien started for Winnipeg and took a no-decision, allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits in six and two-thirds innings.  O’Brien walked six and struck out five.

Ben McKendall started for Lincoln and also took a no-decision, allowing three earned runs on four hits in five innings.  McKendall walked one and struck out three.

Rohm had two hits and has hit safely in eight straight.
