WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Goldeyes’ outfielder David Rohm has been voted an American Association All-Star, and will represent the Goldeyes at the 2016 American Association All-Star Game on August 2nd at CHS Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Entering Wednesday, Rohm ranks fifth in the American Association in batting average (.341) and tied for third in RBI (46). The Fresno, California native also has 29 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, six home runs, and 24 walks.
Rohm has hit safely in 44 of 56 games played with 22 multi-hit contests. On two occasions, Rohm has posted a double-digit game hitting streak, including a career-high 12-game streak from June 16th-28th.
This marks the second all-star appearance in Rohm’s seven-year professional career. The 26-year-old outfielder was an all-star in the High-A Carolina League with the Lynchburg Hillcats (Atlanta Braves) in 2013.
The 2016 American Association All-Star Game takes place Tuesday, August 2nd at CHS Field. Rohm will play for the “North” All-Stars, led by Sioux City Explorers’ manager Steve Montgomery. The “North” is comprised of players from the American Association North and Central Divisions.
The “South” All-Stars are made up of the American Association South Division, as well as the Can-Am League, and are skippered by Pete Incaviglia of the defending champion Laredo Lemurs.
Both all-star squads were voted on by the field managers from each league.
